Miley Cyrus has just called Indiana Governor Mike Pence an “a**hole” for signing the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law on Thursday. The controversial bill, which goes into effect in July, basically states that private businesses and organizations can refuse services to gays and lesbians on the grounds of their religious beliefs.

Along with a photo of Pence, Cyrus wrote on Instagram, “You’re an asshole @govpenceIN -1 cc: the only place that has more idiots tha[n] Instagram is in politics.” She then thanked her brother Braison for “standing up for what is right! We need more strong heterosexual men fighting for equality in both men and women! Why are the macho afraid to love muchoooo?!?”

Earlier, Braison Cyrus wrote on his Instagram account that Pence was passing “a law in Indiana to allow businesses to discriminate against gays under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This is wrong in so many ways. Tweet him and tell him he’s an a**hole.”

For his part, Pence told reporters, “Today I signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, because I support the freedom of religion for every Hoosier of every faith.” He added, “The Constitution of the United States and the Indiana Constitution both provide strong recognition of the freedom of religion but today, many people of faith feel their religious liberty is under attack by government action.”

Pence noted, “This bill is not about discrimination, and if I thought it legalized discrimination in any way I would’ve vetoed it.” Many, however, disagree. What do you think about Cyrus calling Governor Pence an “a**hole”?
