Miley Cyrus “Hands Of Love” — Listen To New Song From “Freeheld” Movie Here!
Miley Cyrus’ new song “Hands of Love” from the movie Freeheld debuted on Monday. Listen to it in the trailer below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Freeheld is based on the real-life story of Stacie Andree and Laurel Hester, who fought for equal benefits rights after Hester was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Ellen Page and Julianne Moore star as the lesbian couple, and were on hand for the film’s world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday. Linda Perry wrote “Hand of Love” for the soundtrack, and none other than Cyrus was chosen to record it.
Page, who was the one to suggest Cyrus’ participation, tells Time, “She has a really raw, unique, awesome, beautiful voice, and Miley’s doing a lot of incredible things for the LGBTQ community. I just thought it was going to be a perfect fit. She and Linda made something really special. I kept listening to it after I heard it.”
For her part, Cyrus calls Page “super amazing and brave,” and found the project right up her ally, because it encompasses two of her passions: music and helping the LGBT community. “People like to learn through entertainment. It’s an interactive way to get people to hear your message by putting it in a song they like to listen to, or a film they want to see,” she tells Time.
And Perry found herself particularly impressed with Cyrus during the recording process, recalling to the outlet, “She walked in with no entourage, no fuss, no anything. She came to be of service for the song and the movie and didn’t bring ‘Miley’ with her.” Watch and listen below, and tell us what you think.
