Miley Cyrus’ Dad Billy Ray Cyrus Warns Her: Don’t Grow To Be “Bitter” Like Me
Late Saturday, the singer took to Instagram to share a text message she received from her dad while she was feeling down.
“You are crazy to be down. You are one of the luckiest people in the world right now,” Billy Ray wrote to her. “ENJOY IT!”
He continued, “Don’t be like me and miss it all worrying about sh*t beyond control ALL the time.”
“That would make you a bitter ole man and that’s not cool,” Billy Ray advised her.
Miley didn’t reveal what was bothering her, but commented in the caption, “I love my dad @billyraycyrus.”
The young star went on theorize that her dad’s personality is why she’s meshed so well professionally (and platonically) with Wayne Coyne.
“He has so many of the same philosophy’s [sic] as my dada who is the most magical hillbilly wizard of all time,” she wrote.
While Cyrus and her dad do indeed have an extremely close relationship, it wasn’t always that way. In 2011, the father-daughter duo has very public falling out. The “Achy Breaky Heart” performed did a candid interview in which he said their show “Hannah Montana” “destroyed” their family.
Whatever destruction there was or wasn’t, it’s nice to see Cyrus and her father are on great terms right now.
