Miley Cyrus To Be Coach On “The Voice” Season 11
Miley Cyrus will be a coach on season 11 of “The Voice.” She announced on Twitter Friday night, “It’s true! I am going to be the newest judge on Season 11 of The Voice @NBCTheVoice #thevoice.”
The NBC music competition is currently in the midst of its 10th season, and Cyrus will actually be featured on the show next week. As Gossip Cop reported, it was announced in February she would be this cycle’s key advisor, mentoring the contestants for all four teams as they compete in the “Knockout Round.” The footage, which taped last month, will play out on episodes broadcast over the next two weeks.
Joining Cyrus as a full-fledged coach will be Alicia Keys, who previously served as a Team Pharrell advisor in season 7. He is now leaving the show, though Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are expected to return. This would be the first time there are two female coaches on the panel.
Christina Aguilera is currently the lone female coach for season 10, but it’s become tradition for her to switch off seasons. During Aguilera’s last two “off” cycles, Gwen Stefani stepped in. Previously, Shakira also took over the position. But now it seems neither veteran will return, at least not this fall.
Gossip Cop has reached out to reps about the coaching changes. We will have updates.
