Miley Cyrus’ Caitlyn Jenner Art Auctioned For $69,000 At amfAR Inspiration Gala, Pop Star Gives Tearful Speech — SEE PHOTOS!
As Gossip Cop reported, Cyrus was an honoree at the star-studded event, which was one of amfAR’s annual, black-tie fundraisers for AIDS research. There is usually always an auction component, and this time around, one of the options to bid on was what Cyrus called the “Caitlyn Collection.” It consisted of three framed covers of Jenner’s Vanity Fair issue that the pop star had decorated with jewels and other accessories.
All the pieces were designed and autographed by Cyrus. And when the bidding hit $65,000, the star encouraged attendees to go higher. In an attempt to goad the crowd, Cyrus said into the mic, “My left boob is bigger than the right — I’ll show you! What about $69,000? I’ll clean your house… naked!”
$69,000 ended up being the winning bid. The art that was up for grabs was partially different from pieces Cyrus previously shared on Instagram over the last few weeks (see below). Just last week, she teased there was a Jenner “collab” in the works with her Happy Hippie Foundation, which she recently launched to help the LGBT and homeless communities.
Cyrus later delivered a speech in which she vowed to “fight” for an AIDS cure, and became teary-eyed when she thanked her parents, who were in attendance, for their influence on her. “I’m gonna f*cking cry like a loser,” said Cyrus (see photo above right). “I just wanna tell my parents that I hope that this makes them proud and somehow makes up for all the sh*t that I do all the time.
As Gossip Cop noted earlier, Cyrus attended the gala with Tyler Ford, an “agender” participant in her new “#InstaPride” initiative with Instagram. Ford actually introduced Cyrus before she made her acceptance speech. Check out the photos of Cyrus’ Jenner art below.
