Mila Kunis Defends Justin Timberlake in Russian at Moscow Press Junket

Mila Kunis came to Justin Timberlake‘s aid at a recent press junket in Moscow for their film, Friends with Benefits.

When Timberlake was asked by a reporter why he was concentrating more on his film career than music these days, before he could answer via a translator, the Ukrainian born Kunis jumped to her comrade’s defense.

In her native Russian, Kunis snapped, “Why movies? Why not?”

She added, “What kind of question is that? Why are you here?”

The crowd, which laughed and cheered, seemed to be on her side.

An appreciative Timberlake then joked that Kunis “is my bodyguard.”

    i love love mila but why is so she defensive the reporter asked a legit question and from what i heard it wasn’t in malice. there was no need to be snappish though justin has already repeated said he doesn’t want to do another album until he feels inspired but there was no need to be nasty mila, she looks great here btw

    I think it’s because they are talking about Friends With Benefits, JTs music has nothing to do with the film, so I think that’s why.

    There is a bit more to this story.According to somme Russian fans,the journalist was trying to say that people in Hollywood are dumb,.Mila defended JT and i find it refreshing that a Hollywoodactress doesnt care about being a ‘role model” but is just who she is a woman who will defend her friends when she has to
    She did the right thing.

    She’s so sweet. I like the way she speaks Russian. She inserts English words into the Russian sentences when she doesn’t know how to translate them. It sounds so cute. And understandable.

    after i was insulted first by jae…let me make one thing clear- i don’t come out swinging unless people start first. never have i come out and flat out insulted someone by replying to them except that dano person. so lets get that straight i never had problem with you until you tried to jump into something that had nothing to do with you and you know it. i get that maybe its you and jae who may be the regulars on here and didn’t appreciate what i had to say but it was my opinion and i sure as hell didn’t need jae making assumptions on where i stand nor did i need you trying to bully me. so that’s all i have to say on that, and i will not bother you or bring up this topic again.

    I’m just becoming familiar with Mila, but this exchange makes me like her even more! (Feisty!) (I’m also wondering even though the words themselves may read innocuous, perhaps the tone/inflection used by the reporter is what Mila found offensive.)

    @MissZee: Thanks for taking my back, however, I tried to find what she was talking about and I did not see me responding to anything she commented on unless of course she has been going under different tag names. I really don’t care. I just jump in when I think someone is being off the wall to someone else’s comment when said someone is attacking the person for no apparent reason and just because they can say foul and off the wall things about someone they don’t know personally. So if she was offended by anything, she had to start it somewhere and in that case, who cares if she was offended. What goes around comes around. And unfortunately for twilight is underneath kstew, if i feel like responding to her, I will do just that.

    My family came from Hungary, sometimes there are no words in the Hungarian (or Russian) language that is equivalent to the English word. Not that I speak Hungarian, however, my father spoke Hungarian to my grandparents who did not speak English, so I grew up listening to this in my life time. There are just some words in the English language that are not translatable to other languages. I have a Hispanic home health care worker that comes in to assist with my caring for an elderly parent who speaks broken English, but when I listen to her talk on her cell in Spanish, there are just some words that she has to say in English because there are no words that exist for them in her own language. I guess that is everywhere.

    Words she’d spoken in English have Russian equivalents, she just didn’t know them. She was asked if she can compare Moscow to NY and when she’d been answering she didn’t know how to translate the word “buildings”, so she said something like: Москва и Нью-Йорк не похожи, здесь много других buildings. She didn’t embarrass and found a good solution. And the journalist liked to talk to her. I think she did it very well.

    I THINK SHE WAS TOTALLY OUT OF LINE. IT PROBABLY TOOK JUSTIN BY SURPRISE AS WELL. WAS SHE ON DRUGS OR SOMETHING? TOTALLY UNNECESSARY! WHAT DOES SHE EXPECT, THEYRE CELEBRATIES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD AND THE QUESTION WAS NOT OFFENSIVE OR BAD
