Michelle Obama “Carpool Karaoke” Video With James Corden On “Late Late Show” – WATCH!
The popular talk show segment typically shows late-night host Corden driving around with music superstars while singing some of their biggest hits, but the First Lady of the United States participated this time for a special edition dubbed “Carpool Karaoke at the White House.” The bit opened with Corden pulling up to the White House, but getting stopped at the gate by a security guard who aggressively questioned the reason for his visit. “I have a tour,” he explained.
Suddenly, Obama got into the front passenger seat and told a stunned Corden, “I hear you’re here for a 1:45 tour, and I had a little time on my hands. Want to go for a spin?” The First Lady then explained that she sat in the front seat of a car only once before in the past seven and a half years, and that was for her daughter’s driving test. Obama then asked Corden, “Do you mind if we listen to some music? I rarely get to listen to music in the car.”
Next, Obama and Corden began singing “Signed, Sealed, Delivered.” “I love Stevie Wonder,” she exclaimed. Corden then asked what she’ll miss the most. The First Lady said, “I’ll miss the people… you see every day” in the White House, and with whom they’ve grown close. After that, they broke into “Single Ladies” while mimicking Beyonce’s hand gestures from the music video.
They also talked about Obama joining Snapchat. Obama said she used it to document traveling in Africa and teaching about the importance of women’s education. That led to Corden and Obama singing “This is For My Girls,” accompanied by Missy Elliott in the backseat. Missy Elliott, Corden, and Obama then rapped “Get Ur Freak On.”
