Michelle Obama celebrated her birthday with a new Twitter account — and bangs!

The First Lady turned 49 on Thursday, launching @FLOTUS on Twitter and debuting a new hairstyle.

Her office’s second official tweet read, ”The First Lady just met with Inaugural citizen co-chair David Hall ahead of #MLKDay of Service,” but the resulting surge of online buzz was all about Obama’s new ‘do.

It’s perhaps the most exciting official White House photo since President Obama mimicked McKayla Maroney’s famous “not impressed” face in the Oval Office last November.
