“NFL Star Michael Strahan Top Contender To Be Kelly Ripa’s Co-Host” reads a HollywoodLife headline.

According to the unreliable webloid, the former footballer “is the front-runner to sit alongside Kelly as her ‘Live with Kelly!’ co-host.”

“All bets are on Michael Strahan,” claims a so-called “source,” who adds that he is “funny, does well on camera and gets along really fabulously with Kelly.”

The supposed snitch continues, “Michael is the top name that is seriously being thrown around right now,” while singer Josh Groban is allegedly still in the running, but “execs on the show just aren’t sure if he’s the best bet.”

So is Strahan really Regis Philbin’s most likely replacement?

Not exactly.

“There’s no ‘top contender,’” an actual “Live” insider tells Gossip Cop, explaining that “some people are still coming in for their first tryouts, others are still coming back for the second time.”

    Well they need to pick someone already. Are they going to announce the new co-host next season? It should be either Michael Strahan, DL Hughley, or Seth Meyers IMO. I know there were others who had great chemistry with Kelly, but can’t exactly remember them all lol. I know Josh Groban does great, but I know he’s busy with his career. Though if all else fails, just make Mark her co-host.

    It’s not the same with Regis gone. Don’t watch it much anymore and especially with regis not there. He was funny. I do like michael strahan – I think Jerry O’Connel is good too.

    I would like her husband to be her co-host…also i like having new co-hosts each day and seeing celebrities be themselves.

    I’d like to see 2 new people in the chairs,Kelly is super annoying without Reege,I stopped watching it.Once she was on her own-yuck.

    I wouldn’t be opposed to Strahan but my favorite cohost is Anderson Cooper. I know Cooper has his own show, two shows, really, but neither has a big audience. I think he should just give up on the other two and be the cohost of Live! because he and Kelly have great chemistry. I also like Josh Groban but how can he cohost a daily morning show and still go on tour. He’s still a best-selling musician. There is no way Mark Consuelos will be cohost. That would be a total disaster for their marriage. So, my choice would be Michael Strahan . . . if this racist country could stand it.

    I like Michael but could he handle being bi-coastal.. he’s got that football gig for Fox (or last i knew he did unless something changed there) which i know isn’t year round but still it’s a heck of a schedule.

    I would LOVE to see Josh Groban as he new co-host. But then, I would miss seeing him in concert. But if he was chosen, I would see him every morning, which would mean my day wouldn’t start until 10:00. But if Josh doesn’t want to be co-host, Michael Strahan or Seth Meyers would definitely be great. I love to laugh, and all three make me laugh and put me in a great mood for the rest of the day.

    I’m still holding to hope that Josh Groban will be name the new co-host. Him and Kelly together are priceless.

    I barely watch it anymore and won’t if Michael Strahan is co-host. I don’t think they have good chemistry. Josh Groban is ok, my favorite by far is Dana Carvey. I laughed through the whole show. I am bored when I see both Michael and Kelly on together. She needs someone funny to mix it up better. I have to find a new show at that time slot as I am so tired of waiting forever for them to try to find someone. Get done with it already – so boring!!!

    I agree it is getting kind of boring waiting for her to pick a co host….The excitment is gone now so I watch it less and less each week…Wish they would just get to picking someone I for one dont like her on her own with different co host…..

    I think it should be my Favorite Artist&singer Josh groban, I think, he should fill in for Regis Philbans seat! he would absoulutley. would be great! for this show. because first, of all Josh groban, got Number 1# on the Billboard chart, and he’s smart, so (Yea) I choose Josh

    I think Kelly Rippa needs to grow up, she acts like she is 12 years old or younger. Her eyes are always looking at the monitor. She needs to have all the attention. She has a very irrating voice and is too skinny.
