Michael Strahan Set to Join Kelly Ripa as Permanent Live! Co-Host

Michael Strahan is reportedly set to become Kelly Ripa’s new permanent co-host on “Live!”

ABC has not yet confirmed the news.

Gossip Cop has reached out both to Strahan’s camp and the show for comment.

Strahan, a former NFL star for the New York Giants, has been among a string of would-be co-hosts to audition for the gig in the months since Regis Philbin left the show.

His name has been consistently included in various reported shortlists for the permanent spot.

Ripa has said she’ll announce her new co-host on September 4.

    I was hoping for Martin Short or Dana Carvey, but I’m just showing my age. Michael and Kelly do seem to get along great and he’s very personable.

    They have great chemistry and he’s a lot of fun, but how is the a 9 on the scale if no one is confirming it?

    GC reached out, but they don’t say they got any confirmation. Makes is just seem like another rumor.

    They could have done much worse. I’m happy with anyone but that jerk from Community who was cohosting today. I was kind of pulling for Nick Lachey, he has such a great voice and a good sense of humor, but Michael is fine.
