‘Live’ Crew NOT “Ignoring” Michael Strahan, Despite Report
The “Live with Kelly and Michael” crew is NOT “ignoring” Michael Strahan following Kelly Ripa’s return to the talk show, despite an inaccurate webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk this rumor. We’re told it’s “not true.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Ripa returned to “Live” on Tuesday, exactly one week after she was blindsided with the news that co-host Strahan was leaving the show to join “Good Morning America.” And as we also noted, Strahan is leaving “Live” earlier than planned, with his final show scheduled for May 13 instead of later in the summer as was initially expected. Now, according to the repeatedly discredited RadarOnline, the talk show crew has completely shunned Strahan.
A so-called “show insider” simply tells the webloid, “No one is talking to Michael.” But Gossip Cop checked in with a very reliable production source, who assures us the crew is handling the unfortunate situation professionally, and they’re certainly not snubbing the show’s co-host of nearly four years. And while there was bound to be some tension backstage amid the recent events, we’re told the site’s rumor about employees supposedly giving Strahan the silent treatment is just “not true.”
Of course, RadarOnline is the same outlet Gossip Cop corrected on Monday for claiming show producers were “terrified” of Ripa launching an on-air attack against Strahan. Naturally, no such thing occurred on Tuesday’s show. To the contrary, Ripa handled the conflict with grace. She referred to the show’s staff as “family,” and also congratulated her co-host on his “tremendous opportunity” as a new anchor on “GMA.” Ripa further expressed to Strahan, “We couldn’t be prouder of you and everything we accomplished together.”
