Michael Strahan “GMA” Video: “Live” Host Celebrates New Job, Thanks Kelly Ripa
Michael Strahan celebrated his new job on Thursday’s “GMA.” Watch below.
As Gossip Cop reported, it was announced earlier this week that Strahan will be leaving “Live with Kelly and Michael” to join “Good Morning America” full-time. While the news has brought drama to the set of “Live,” where a blindsided Ripa has taken time off, the huge job change was cheered on the morning news program. With Strahan at the anchor desk, there was audible excitement when Robin Roberts welcomed him to the fold.
“I’m ready,” Strahan said, before joking he’ll need “some tips on how to wake up early everyday.” As he’s already been appearing on the show two days a week, the former NFL star commented, “It’s my second family here.” But, he added, “I’m going to miss everybody at ‘Live,’ sitting next to Kelly every day and having a lot of fun on that show over the last four years.”
“I’m very thankful to her because I learned so much from her, and [producer] Michael Gelman,” Strahan continued. “I was so new to all of this, and worked for her and worked for Michael Gelman and the staff there — that really boosted me up and made me look a lot better than I really am. I never would’ve had a chance to be here [at ‘GMA’], but I’m grateful that I’m here.”
Strahan went on, “And we’re on the same network. I’m just right over here a little earlier now. But we’re on the same team, same family, same network.” Ripa may disagree. Check out the full video below.
