Michael Showers, “Treme” Actor, Found Dead in Mississippi River

Michael Showers, an actor who appeared as a police officer on “Treme,” was found dead in the Mississippi River near New Orleans yesterday.
He was 45.
A steamboat captain spotted Showers floating in the water between the St. Louis and Toulouse street wharfs, according to the Times-Picayune.
An autopsy has yet to be conducted, but an official in the Orleans Parish coroner’s office estimated that the actor’s body had been in the river for two days.
Showers played New Orleans Police Captain John Guidry in “Treme,” and also appeared in series such as “Breaking Bad” and “The Vampire Diaries.”
Showers also appeared in feature films like Traffic and The Tree of Life.
