As Gossip Cop previously reported, Phelps won gold in the 200-meter individual medley on Thursday night, making him the first swimmer to win four gold medals at the same individual event in consecutive Olympics. He also took home two gold medals on Tuesday with the 200-meter butterfly and 4x200m freestyle relay, and another last Sunday during the 4×100-meter freestyle relay.
