Michael Phelps is coming out of retirement.

The legendary swimmer, a 22-time Olympic medalist with 18 golds, will compete for the first time since the 2012 London Olympics at a competition in Arizona next week.

He is set to swim the 50- and 100-meter freestyles, as well as the 100-meter butterfly.

The 28-year-old Phelps has been training with his longtime coach Bob Bowman, and while he’s described as being far from his history-making form, he could wind up competing in the U.S. National Championships in August depending on how he performs in upcoming events.

Phelps swam what was believed to be his final Olympic event in London in August 2012 (winning gold, of course), and then celebrated his retirement.

Is it possible he could swim at the 2016 Olympics in Rio?

Stay tuned.
