Michael Jackson’s Kids Celebrate His Birthday in King of Pop’s Hometown (PICS)
Michael Jackson’s kids traveled to Gary, Indiana on Friday to celebrate what would have been the King of Pop’s 56th birthday.
Paris, Prince, and Blanket were joined by other Jackson family members as they were greeted by fans outside of the family’s former home.
The family traveled to Gary to take part in the city’s first-ever, three-day Michael Jackson Tribute Festival of the Arts, an event that was expected to draw thousands of people.
Birthday festivities in past years, beginning after Jackson’s 2009 death, were usually confined to the street of his childhood home, but his mother Katherine helped local organizers expand this year’s celebrations.
The festival included performances by local high school students and other emerging artists.
Many celebrities also took to social media to mark the occasion, with Beyoncé posting a throwback photo of Jackson on Instagram and writing, “We love you Michael.”
