Michael Jackson’s bejeweled white glove, which he premiered during his famous, first moonwalk dance at Motown’s 25th anniversary TV special in 1983, sold at auction yesterday for $350,000. Actually, with the auction house’s commission, the winner, Hoffman Ma of Hong Kong, had to pay a total of $420,000 for the golf glove that Jackson modified with rhinestones.
The glove will reportedly be on display inside the Ponte 16 hotel on the Chinese island of Macau.
Another hot ticket from the auction yesterday at the Hard Rock Café in New York was a black jacket Jackson wore during his 1989 “Bad” tour. The jacket, with commissions and all, sold for $275,000. Not bad at all.
