5 Seconds Of Summer’s Michael Clifford “Doing OK” After Getting Burned By Fire During London Concert – WATCH VIDEO
5 Seconds Of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford says he’s “doing OK” after his face was burned on Saturday when pyrotechnics hit him in the face during the band’s show at Wembley Arena in London. The band was performing its song “She Looks So Perfect” when flames shot up from the stage and singed Clifford’s face and hair. See the scary video below.
Right after Clifford was burned, he grabbed a towel and pressed it against the side of his face before running off the stage. A few minutes later, bandmate Ashton Irwin told the audience, “Michael has hurt himself, so we will not be continuing the show right now,” but added that Clifford was “okay.” He then thanked the crowd for coming.
Later, Clifford took to Twitter to share a photo of himself with his face heavily bandaged on the left side (see below). In a series of message, he tweeted, “What the f*cks up. sorry I couldnt finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. thanks for worrying every1.” He added, “im doing ok.” Clifford then asked fans, “If I obviously don’t want to have my picture taken right now please don’t take my picture.” He also noted that he’ll “see everyone tomorrow,” indicating Clifford would be back for 5 Seconds Of Summer’s concert on Sunday at Wembley Arena.
Clifford’s bandmates tweeted about his accident as well. Luke Hemmings wrote, “Incredible show tonight for the most part, mikes in good spirits :) Glad he’s all good!” And Calum Hood tweeted, “No one ever wants to see your best friend in the state I saw mike backstage. He’s a trooper and is ok.” Following Clifford getting burned, “#GETWELLSOONMICHAEL” became a trending topic on Twitter. Gossip Cop wishes Clifford a speedy recovery, and we will continue to update on his condition.
