Michael B. Jordan And Kate Mara Asked Racially Offensive Questions In ‘Fantastic Four’ Interview (VIDEO)
Michael B. Jordan and his Fantastic Four co-star Kate Mara were forced to recently sit through a racially offensive interview with two Atlanta DJs from Rock 100.5 Morning Show. The two, joined by co-star Jamie Bell, were bombarded with insensitive questions about how they could play brother and sister in the superhero film when they’re different races. Watch the video below.
“From what I’ve seen, you’re brother and sister,” DJ Jason Bailey asked Jordan, who plays Johnny Storm, and Mara, who plays his sister Sue Storm. “Right,” Jordan responded. The DJ continued, “Am I missing something?” Jordan gave the interviewer a firm “no,” but then Bailey pressed, “You’re white and you’re black. How does that happen?” Jordan explained that there a lot of different “family dynamics,” and that his character and Mara’s character were simply “raised as brother and sister.”
The already awkward interview, however, didn’t end there. DJ Steven Rickman then addressed Mara, telling her she was “way, way hot,” but didn’t understand why she cut her hair short. “Your hair was beautiful,” Rickman said. The actress mumbled, “This is a great interview,” before explaining, “I cut my hair for a movie I just did… I’m an actress. I have to be a chameleon.” Rickman then bizarrely complimented Mara on her toes before the film’s press team asked the DJs to leave.
