Micah Johnson Among Shocking American Idol Hollywood Week Eliminations (VIDEO)

Micah Johnson’s “American Idol” journey came to a surprising end on Thursday.

The contestant, who miraculously sings flawlessly despite having a serious speech impediment from a medical procedure gone wrong — was among the early front-runners eliminated after Hollywood Week’s solo performances.

Matheus Fernandes was also emotionally sent home, shortly after Nicki Minaj accused him of seeking a “pity party” because his growth is stunted.

But other faves, such as stutterer Lazaro Arbos and Burnell Taylor, who brought Mariah Carey to tears during his first audition, survived the cuts — for now.

With 28 guys left, eight must still be eliminated to make a Top 20.

    Micah Johnson has such a pure natural voice. Screw American Idol to cut such a talented young man. What a farce and a complete joke of a “talent” show.

    Shocked and saddened. I could feel his career unfurling right from his first audition. A beautiful voice that is bursting with emotion. A crying shame. Why do I feel the judges knew he was out while he was singing. Were they ordered to remove him?

    They should do what Bieber did, sing on u-tube and perhaps be discovered. Bieber had the last laugh over these shows which did not promote him.

    I have been in the music industry for over 30 years. Cutting MIcah Johnson was absolutely the dumbest call I have ever seen by judges professing themselves to be objective and professional when analyzing raw talent. Micah you are an inspiration and God will find a forum for the pure melodic talent you possess. I suggest you go on the Voice or even X factor and don’ be surprised when things start to happen for you. Good luck KId!

    BIG MISTAKE! He has the best voice of all the guys and seems so down to earth and humble!! Not watching this season anymore. Stupid and made no sense! They said it was based upon overall performance…so ONE song Mariah didn’t like and he was gone ?? Huh?? Well, done for this season unless they get micah back!

    I agree… How can I watch without knowing there is a bias somewhere. You mean to tell me that the kid who sang “Somebody I used to know” sang better than Micah on this day? I think NOT… The fix is on!
