REPORT: Ron Artest Changing Name to ‘Metta World Peace’

Ron Artest is reportedly changing his name to “Metta World Peace.”

The Los Angeles Lakers star has filed a petition in L.A. Superior Court to make the switch, according to TMZ.

If it becomes official, “Peace” would go on the back of the jersey worn by the player formerly known as Artest.

The “Peace” name would be especially noteworthy given that Artest was at the center of an infamous 2004 brawl between players and fans in Detroit.
