Julia Louis-Dreyfus Does Commercial For Battery-Operated Mercedes AA Class Car On ‘SNL’ – WATCH VIDEO
Julia Louis-Dreyfus mocked the Mercedes A Class car on “Saturday Night Live” with a commercial for the new Mercedes AA Class, which she noted is the “first fully electric luxury sedan powered entirely by AA batteries.” Check out the “SNL” ad for the Mercedes AA Class below.
Louis-Dreyfus’s spoof commercial began with the actress opening the hood of a Mercedes that was filled with thousands of little batteries inside. She then boasts, “No more plugs, no more charging stations, just 9,648 AA batteries.” Louis-Dreyfus explains the Mercedes AA has zero emissions, a lifetime warranty and a “top speed of 52 MPH.”
Her pitch for the battery-operated car includes Louis-Dreyfus saying it has “everything you’ve come to expect from Mercedes,” including satellite navigation, a Bose stereo and “ample space to store extra batteries” in the trunk, which we see if filled with loads of AAs. Louis-Dreyfus next discusses some of the Mercedes AA Class’s features, such airbags and a touch screen that alerts you to which batteries are running low. Not surprisingly, the touch screen lights up, indicating hundreds of low-running batteries. Louis-Dreyfus reveals the batteries can be replaced individually or “all at once,” as thousands of batteries pour out of four sides of the Mercedes.
At the end of the commercial, Louis-Dreyfus says, “The Merecedes AA Class luxury sedan… Batteries not included.” Check out the video below of Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s Mercedes AA Class parody ad on “Saturday Night Live.”
