American Beauty star Mena Suvari and concert promoter Simone Sestito were married in Vatican City on Saturday.

The ceremony took place in a private church, with a private reception outside of the city to follow, her rep confirmed to Gossip Cop.

Most of Sestito’s family lives near Rome.

Suvari reportedly had designer Stacey Bendet create her wedding dress.

The couple met at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007 and had been engaged since 2008.

Suvari’s first marriage, to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, ended in divorce.
