Melissa Rycroft Is First-Ever Dancing With the Stars: All Stars Winner! (VIDEO)

SPOILER

(ABC)

“Dancing with the Stars” has its first-ever “All Stars” champion!

The winner was revealed at the end of a jam-packed two-hour finale on Tuesday, which included the return of former contestants.

The finale also marked the first time the three finalists — Kelly Monaco, Shawn Johnson and Melissa Rycroft — were all women.

But before the Mirror Ball Trophy could be awarded, the contestants and their partners had to compete once more in the Instant Dance, the scores of which were combined with Monday’s scores and viewers’ votes to determine the final results.

So, which pair came in third?

Season 1 winner Monaco and partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

That left season 8 winner Johnson and partner Derek Hough in contention with Rycroft, who placed third in that same season, and her partner Tony Dovolani.

And the Mirror Ball Trophy went to…

Rycroft and Dovolani!

This is the first win for Dovolani, who has been on the show every season since the second.

Check out video of the winning moment below!

What do you think of Rycroft becoming the first winner to have a second chance on “Dancing with the Stars”?

So happy for Tony and Melissa. I really enjoyed them as a team on Season 8 and was excited to see them have the opportunity to come back and dance together again this season. It was a great season with a fantastic end!

I wanted her to win, I am happy she did. She and Tony danced great this season. Tony is not a big favorite for me but I am happy for him. So after what eight seasons, he finally won. He was so ecstatic, he deserved it. Maybe next time Maxim will win.

Sadly, Maxim has said this was his last season on the show. Derek has also “hinted” that he might take next season off to pursue … um … a film career (since his sister’s is going to …ahem … well) I, for one, will miss Maxim’s “Bad Boy of the Ballroom” antics!!!

sorry, that should have read: “since his sister’s is going so …ahem…well)

Well, the All Stars wasn’t a disappointment but it wasn’t the best season I’ve seen so far. I’m just glad that we will be treated to another D-list star studded episode soon (LOL!). There was a lot of tension at the end since the final three are all so equally talented and have devoted fans. I always watch every show with my DISH coworker and our families. It is a
great excuse to get together and I’m not embarrassed any more that I forgot to record the show because I use AuotHop on my DISH Hopper. All four of the major networks record automatically each night so I don’t have to set any timers for my favorite shows like DWTS. That convenience keeps me out of hot water with everyone too!

I’m so very happy Melissa and Tony won! Everyone was great but they were phenomenal! They so deserved to win!

I am so happy for Melissa. She is a wonderful dancer! But I am really thrilled for Tony. He is an amazing dancer and choreographer and until now, he hasn’t really had a chance to show what he can do! Now the world knows, Tony. Good luck in the future.
