Melissa Etheridge Not Paying Child Support?
Melissa Etheridge is not $10,000 behind on child support payments for her 9-year-old twins, despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s not true.
According to Star, Etheridge is breaking the terms of her divorce settlement with ex-wife Tammy Lynn Michaels, and hasn’t been providing for their son, Miller, and daughter, Johnnie Rose. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid that the singer doesn’t have the funds to cover the children’s costs, adding, “Melissa has invested a lot of her money in things that didn’t turn a profit, and she just expects Tammy and their kids to be patient while she sorts is all out.”
The magazine’s dubious source then claims that Michaels doesn’t believe Etheridge can’t afford child support, and supposedly thinks the rocker is being irresponsible with her cash. “From Tammy’s point of view, Melissa has money for the things she wants,” says the magazine’s “tipster.” “She can’t understand why their kids aren’t one of those priorities.”
However, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who exclusively assures us that Etheridge is simply “not behind at all on child support.” We’re further told that the singer and her current wife, Linda Wallem, even “bought Tammy a house.” The tabloid’s claim is made-up and this is simply a non-story.
