Melania Trump Still Moving To White House, Despite Report
Melania Trump is still moving to the White House, despite a tabloid cover story suggesting otherwise. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the widely-spread, but incorrect, report.
On the cover of Wednesday’s new Us Weekly, which announces “Melania & Donald Separate Lives,” it’s teased, “Inside the mysterious world of the first lady — and why she may never move into the White House.” The magazine also published its story on its website, where it’s asserted, “President Donald Trump may have 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue all to himself.” Though the First Family has said Melania will move to Washington, D.C. after the school year, the outlet contends, “that may not happen.”
“They will reevaluate toward the end of the school year if they will keep this arrangement or if Melania and Barron will move to Washington. They could go either way right now,” a so-called “source” is quoted as saying. That’s all the information the tabloid has, and it was enough for a number of other publications to pick up the claim without further investigation.
But Gossip Cop is in favor of fact-checking over simply regurgitating possibly suspect information. Now a Trump contact exclusively tells us, “The report is false. The First Lady will move to D.C. at the end of the school year.” Should that plan end up changing, Gossip Cop will update.
