Mel Gibson’s Cameo in ‘The Hangover 2′ Has Been Pulled

Mel Gibson is now OUT of The Hangover 2.

Director Todd Phillips released a statement today announcing that the controversial actor’s cameo in the comedy sequel has been pulled.

“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of [Warner Bros. president] Jeff Robinov and his team,” said Phillips in a statement.

“But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

One prominent cast member who may have expressed discomfort with Gibson is Zach Galifianakis.

During a recent interview, Galifianakis mentioned turning down some roles on moral grounds before adding, “But a movie you’re acting in, you don’t have a lot of control — you just show up and vomit your lines out. I’m not the boss.”

“I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen] … I’m not making any leeway.”

Galifianakis refused to say what he was referencing, but after interviewer Scott Aukerman pressed, “I know you’re filming The Hhhhhhhh … “ Galifianakis admitted, “It has something to do with a movie I’m working on, yeah. I’ll tell you about it later. It’s very frustrating.”

It looks like cast members like Galifianakis got their way — Gibson is out.

I am glad on this decision.
If we oppose Mels bigot ideals but, still give him our money at the movies etc we are in essence no different than these so called peace-loving muslims who whisper they abhor those muslim fanatics but, by their very silence support their atrocities towards mankind.
Mr. Mel needs to sit down and retire.
There is a major difference in having the right to an opinion and being a menacing bully! Although, “stars” are given generous leeway NO ONE is beyond reproach! Some “stars” such as Mel take it way too far!

I was sorry to read that Mel had been removed from HO2. I really enjoyed The Hangover but I refuse to support a movie/WB that would do this to an Icon.
Mel has his faults, hes said some hateful things but that is not all Mel is.
What has happened to Mel can happen to anyone. Perhaps not the exact circumstances, but a regretful moment caught secretly.
I will boycott HO2 when it comes out and sorry RDJ, I will not be paying a dime to see Zach Whatchamahypocrite in Due Date.
To reject Mel for comments made in the privacy of his home and embrace a CONVICTED rapist, batterer and ear biter is just to hypocritical for me.

I do not condone any bigots, but the majority of people walking around think that their race is superior than the others and they also say such things under rage as Mel did. The difference is that he got taped. I must admit that he was quite enraged. I think that he knew that he was being screwed over by this Okasana. I notice that we are not getting the news of her lawyers quitting on her. The woman is money crazy and won’t stop at being satisfied. Now from what she has done has impacted his livelihood. Now how in the world will he be able to keep up with her $20,000 a month suing? That’s pretty high for him not being an ex. Somebody better give him a job and fast.

Wow you guys are hypocrites. Down with bigotry! Except for when it comes to those “so-called peace-loving Muslims” and gold-digging bitches, right?
