Meghan Trainor Sings Funny Thanksgiving Carols On Jimmy Kimmel Live (VIDEO)
Meghan Trainor is trying to fix our national problem of too few Thanksgiving songs. Why should Christmas have so many tunes while Thanksgiving is just about the food? On Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Trainor introduced her new album of “Thanksgiving Carols.” Her songs manage to capture the true spirit of the holiday.
The “All About That Bass” singer serves up plenty of sure-to-be classics, including “My Flight Got Canceled In Denver (I’ll Be Sleeping At An Airport Quiznos Tonight)” and “Uncle Dan Hates Obama (And Won’t Shut Up About Benghazi).”
There’s also “The Turkey Is Still Frozen In The Middle” and “I Would Like To Leave (To Get Drunk With My Friends),” along with the beautiful “Grandma’s A Racist (Pass The Yams).” Festive! As Kimmel explains in introducing Trainor, “There are literally thousands and thousands of Christmas songs, but the closest thing we have to a Thanksgiving song is the theme from ‘The Golden Girls.’ And that to me is unacceptable.”
It’s good that Trainor is working to balance things out. Check out the video below, and tell us what you think! Will these songs become Thanksgiving standards?
