A tabloid story accuses Meghan Markle of ditching her “Hollywood pals” in favor of the royal life with Prince Harry. Gossip Cop looked into the report, and we can now exclusively reveal the truth.

“Meghan’s Hollywood Pals On Hold,” reads a headline from OK!. According to the tabloid, Markle is “so busy” with Prince Harry, “her showbiz pals have taken a backseat.” A so-called “insider” alleges to the gossip magazine that “even one of her best friends, Priyanka Chopa, hasn’t seen her since Meghan was in L.A. in November.”

The outlet’s supposed source continues, “Everyone is happy for her, but it’s hard not to feel snubbed.” The alleged tipster goes on to contend to the publication, “At this point, Priyanka thinks she won’t even get invited to the wedding if Meghan and Harry tie the knot.” But this appears to be a twisting of reality.

Chopra appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” a couple of weeks ago, and humbly stated that she didn’t know if she was worthy of an invitation to a royal wedding, should Markle marry Prince Harry. It seems the tabloid took that remark and repurposed it with this “insider” to be a comment on the state of the women’s friendship. Conveniently, though, the magazine didn’t take into consideration another one of Chopra’s admissions.

During the interview, she also made clear that she and Markle are still in touch, even noting how her friend helps her through “stress.” So while OK! wants to make it seem like the “Suits” star has ditched Chopra simply because they haven’t been photographed together, public outings are not the only way to carry on a friendship. Gossip Cop also spoke with a source close to Markle, who told us, “Meghan has the same friends she’s always had and is fiercely loyal.”

The only thing OK! seems loyal to is misrepresenting the truth. This is the same outlet that just last month made up a story about Markle and Prince Harry house-hunting in America. It’s also notable that in this piece, it’s said “if Meghan and Harry tie the knot.” Yet the publication previously claimed a royal wedding was “confirmed.” It’s quite obvious the tabloid doesn’t care about accuracy or consistency.
