Megan Fox: I Never Said “I Would Not Trade My Place With An Unattractive Girl”

(Jalouse)

Megan Fox is hitting back at French magazine Jalouse, which in their April cover story quoted her as saying, “I live well with my image. I cannot complain. I would not trade my place with an unattractive girl.”

The Friends With Kids actress took to Facebook on Friday to clarify her statements, which were picked up widely and criticized by many observers.

She writes, ”Sigh. The actual comment, the context and its intention are grossly distorted and misrepresented here,” saying that the meaning of her words was lost in translation. “I gave this interview in English obviously. It was then translated to French and now back into English.”

Fox insists, “I’ve never made vapid self serving comments and in contradiction am uncontrollably self deprecating.”

Her explanation definitely carries some weight, as it’s obvious that the French-to-English translation was off in another part of the interview, where she was quoted as saying, “I hate taking pictures, I never watch them, otherwise I would have wanted to change everything. I prefer not to see any and trust the photographer, who knows his job.”

What do you think of Fox’s explanation?

I’ve never known a pretty girl who puts a lot of effort in to their appearance not being at least a little catty about other not-so-much pretty women. At the same time, they just as often were defenders of those who weren’t as pretty but also weren’t trying to wear the same kind of clothes or makeup or act very pretty – so my own opinion is the truth is in the middle. I think her appearance is important to her, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if she got in an accident that resulted in a bad facial scar that she wouldn’t really care except for how it might effect her career. I suspect she’d try to make herself up no matter what the starting point was, so that perhaps goes a bit to her trading places, but at the same time she may also look at other women and if they are doing something she doesn’t like it’d be poo on them…

Why are we still doing news stories if she’s so “irrelevant”? Why not focus on Rosie Huntington-Whitely, she’s so goddamned “in-demand”. Not that I have any problem with her either, but if Megan Fox was this bitch that is now a Hollywood pariah, I’m just surprised that we’re still covering her.

Megan Fox is not the brightest bulb in the lamp and she has said some amazingly stupid, vapid and silly things, ruining her career in the process, but I never believed she made this quote. While she is a pretty woman she is not naturally so. It’s obvious she has had a lot of work done on her face and she is quite insecure in her looks. So, no, I don’t believe she made that statement. The fact that so many people did believe she said that is a testament to how much she is disliked. Maybe having a baby will change her image.

Its probably not smart to say it out loud, but who WOULD trade places with a less attractive person? There are all sorts of advantages to being on the pretty or handsome side of the spectrum~~especially in show business. When I read the quote, I just thought she had a flair for the obvious.

I don’t think anyone is ugly, I personally don’t use the word. And think everyone/thing has beauty. And if you want to be societies verson of beauty, it’s just a makeover away for anyone. I do notice alot of people who aren’t even stand out gorgeous or stunning call others ugly though. And no one, and i mean no one, is so beautiful that they can criticize someone else’s appearance. Ever.

I would have to agree. I have never known her to actually outright be catty about someone. Even with all the Angelina Jolie comparison crap going on. – i might be wrong, but i never heard anything. Anyway, i get her, and i get how it might have happened. She might have been saying she certainly enjoys her beauty, rather than not. And not at all trying to put anyone down.
