Maya Rudolph Impersonates Rachel Dolezal On Late Night With Seth Meyers (VIDEO)
Maya Rudolph channeled Rachel Dolezal on Monday’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” when the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member impersonated the controversial, former NAACP member. Donning an afro wig and perplexed expression, Rudolph and host Seth Meyers reenacted Dolezal’s now infamous TV interview in which she was caught lying about her racial identity. Watch the funny video below!
Rudolph, who is of mixed ethnicity, told Meyers that people have been constantly pointing out the resemblance between herself and Dolezal. “People are like, ‘It’s too bad you haven’t been on ‘SNL’ since 2007. You have to play this lady!'” Rudolph revealed. She went on to add that a similar thing happened to Tina Fey when Sarah Palin emerged in the public eye, as people couldn’t help but notice their likeness to one another.
“Can I just ask you a few questions?” Meyers said as the two comedians began the bit. “Was your father an African-American? Let me make this very simple for you. Are your parents white?” Rudolph, with a bewildered look on her face, replied, “Wait. I don’t really understand the question.” Watch the full sketch below, and tell us what you think!
