Now that Matthew McConaughey has an Oscar, he “doesn’t need” Magic Mike, reports Star.

According to the tabloid, the actor “told co-star and producer Channing Tatum not to include him in the sequel Channing’s currently writing.”

A purported “source” for the mag claims, “Matthew feels that he’s done his time.”

The so-called “insider” adds, “Taking his shirt off is what got him to the forefront of Hollywood, but he is adamant that since he won an Academy Award, his acting skills should get him jobs.”

Not at all.

Tatum recently tweeted out a photo of himself staring at a bust of the Dallas Buyers Club star while writing the script (see below), which seems to confirm McConaughey will be back for the sequel.

And Gossip Cop checked in with a McConaughey insider, who told us the actor never told Tatum to omit him from the movie’s second installment.
