VIDEO: Matthew McConaughey and Jimmy Fallon Take Turns Smashing Their Faces
Matthew McConaughey played Jimmy Fallon in a rousing game of “Facebreakers” on Thursday’s “The Tonight Show.” The Interstellar actor and the host took turns throwing footballs at glass panels painted with their faces. There was, of course, musical accompaniment by The Roots and plenty of giddy laughter from Fallon.
McConaughey is an avid football fan and supporter of the University of Texas Longhorns, and he has a pretty good throwing motion. Fallon’s own technique is a bit less… reliable. But you can toss out all the rules and expectations when it comes to “Facebreakers,” especially under the intense “Tonight Show” lights, where Fallon has what McConaughey called “home-field advantage.” Who won the game?
During their interview before the game, McConaughey told a hilarious story about how he lived for decades mistakenly believing he’d won the “Little Mr. Texas” title as an eight-year-old in 1977, only to discover recently that it was all a lie perpetuated by his mom. The Oscar winner then shared another amazing anecdote about how his mom encouraged him to plagiarize in order to win a fifth-grade poetry contest. In other words, his first two trophies were both a sham. Check out the videos below, and tell us what you think!
