Matt LeBlanc And Andrea Anders Split: Joey Co-Stars Break Up After Eight Years
Matt LeBlanc and Andrea Anders have broken up after eight years together. A rep for the former “Friends” star confirmed the split to Gossip Cop on Tuesday, noting they called it quits “months ago.”
LeBlanc and Anders began dating in 2006, after meeting through the “Friends” spinoff, “Joey.” Their romance went public right after he filed for divorce from Melissa McKnight, his wife of three years, with whom he has a daughter named Marina. The former co-stars last walked a red carpet together at the Emmys this past August (see photo right). The star was solo at the season premiere party for his Showtime series “Episodes” on Monday. The relationship is said to have ended before the new year.
Last November, LeBlanc was photographed cozying up to a woman, not Anders, at a masquerade party in Texas, leading to rumors that he had cheated. At the time, the actor’s rep said he was merely posing for photos with people who approached him as fans, and said he left the festivities alone.
LeBlanc has remained largely mum about his private life and romance with Anders over the years, but he reflected on his failed marriage to McKnight in a candid interview with The Telegraph last May. “I don’t know if my marriage was doomed to fail. It was a great relationship once. Maybe it was my daughter’s diagnosis,” he told the outlet, referring to an illness Marina suffered with as a baby. “Maybe I got lost, focused on my work too much.”
He further said, “I don’t think I would get married again. Never say never. I don’t have a prime example set by my parents. My mom was married twice. My dad has been married eight, nine, 10 times. He was a ladies’ man. Now he’s old. I don’t talk to him.” LeBlanc’s split with Anders was first reported by Us Weekly.
