Marla Maples ‘GMA’ Video: “My Heart’s Broken” Over ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Elimination – WATCH
Marla Maples and Tony Dovolani opened up about their surprising elimination from “Dancing with the Stars” on Tuesday’s “GMA.” Check out the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Maples and Dovolani were sent home at the end of Monday’s episode, even though they weren’t the night’s lowest-scoring couple. The pro now admitted during a live “Good Morning America” interview, “I was stunned, I have to say, for the first time in 21 seasons, where I actually did not expect this at all. She was growing every single week. It felt like we were really hitting our stride. When they announced us, I was speechless.”
A “so sad” Maples expressed, “Truly my heart’s broken. I love the show. I’ve had a rough few years. It helped me learn how to not just walk again but learn how to dance.” The former model went on to discuss her daughter Tiffany, whose father is Donald Trump.
“She’s so proud. She’s extremely sad that we’re not still in it, because she knows how much this meant to me and to Tony,” Maples shared. “And she knows how hard we worked. I mean, we worked so hard! We gave everything.”
Trump’s ex-wife added, “You want to inspire your children. I’m so grateful for all the women and daughters who have been so supportive, and I just hope we can keep inspiring each other.”
There is one upside to getting voted off the competition, though. “The good news is now I can help her get ready for her graduation,” Maples said of Tiffany completing her college studies. “It was going to be tough with ‘Dancing With The Stars’ to be the mom I like to be, because [the show] is full time.”
She amusingly added, “If you get food and an hour’s sleep in, you’re really doing well.” Watch the full “GMA” video below, which also includes a recap of last night’s show and an interview with Ginger Zee and Val Chmerkovskiy.
