“Glee” Star Mark Salling Sued For Sexual Battery: Report

(GettyImages.com)

Mark Salling is reportedly being sued for sexual battery by his alleged former girlfriend.

The “Glee” star is accused of forcing Roxanne Gorzela to have sex without a condom despite her protestations during intimate relations in March of 2011.

Gorzela reportedly claims she went to confront Salling later that month over emotional distress from the incident and ”health concerns,” only to allegedly find the actor in bed with someone else.

And when Gorzela reportedly demanded proof that he was STD-free, she claims Salling grabbed and pushed her to the ground, leaving significant bruising on her thighs and knees.

She later filed a police report with the LAPD.

Gorzela, who says she began dating the TV star in September of 2010, is suing for unspecified damages, reports TMZ.

A rep for Salling tells Gossip Cop that there’s “no truth” to Gorzela’s claims.

“It’s the textbook case of a disgruntled girl looking to cash in on a TV star’s success,” the publicist says. “We turn the rest over to Mark’s attorneys and have no further comment.”

Umm…okay. If you’re charging someone with sexual battery are you charging them with rape?

Also, from the third paragraph — I don’t know — it sounds like she’s trying to get back at him for cheating or something. I’m trying not to be judgmental — I don’t know what happened — but that’s almost how it reads to me. I’m curious about everyone else’s take on this.

It certainly comes across that way. Every time someone sues a celeb for money I admit I get suspicious of the his or her motive.

  • Martina

Aaaahhh what?! People here suggest that anyone accusing celebrity must be after money?! Honey, you are making them the way he would.
While I can’t tell the truth here, I would not jump that fast to accuse the accuser being a gold digger. That is exact reason celebrity can do whatever hey want as women are afraid to charge them with anything, no to be branded like that.

Usually when someone is sexually battered, they peruse criminal charges, not money.

  • Regina1180

    Pursue not peruse, of course.

  • D. Martin

Agreed. This appears to be about money — not justice.

  • whaaaaa

is she srsly suing him two years after it happened?!

  • Well

That’s ridiculous. I’ve read plenty of stories where a victim was too scared and too traumatized to go to the cops. Let the case go through trial or whatever before making comments like that. I can only imagine how Scary or intimidating going to the cops to report something like that can be. Just be because he’s a good looking celebrity doesn’t mean he’s innocent.

Except she’s not having him charged, she’s suing for money – BIG difference.

  • D. Martin

    It appears that way.

  • D. Martin

True enough…but she did not file criminal charges here — and she is doing this 2 years after the fact. She is suing — which means she wants money. She probably thinks he’ll throw cash at her to get this to go away. And this has happened too recently: David Letterman, John Travolta, Justin Bieber.

I think it’s a bit of a problem that the moment a woman tries to sue for anything related to sexual assault, everyone assumes she’s lying or scheming to take his money. Hell, if there’s any truth to these allegations, I hope she gets his money. Sexual assault and rape are crimes just like murder and robbery are, and I know none of you want to live in a country where crimes go unpunished.

  • Regina1180

Do you realize how crazy that logic sounds? If you go to the cops, your identity is protected from the public. Going straight for the money doesn’t keep you anonymous. THAT would be more intimidating and scary.

It’s also harder to prove something like this in civil court because your lawyer just isn’t experienced.

I hope for both of their sakes this didn’t happen. For her, it’s a terrible thing for a woman to have to live through. And for him, if it didn’t happen he had to see his name associated with “sexual battery”.

Something tells me that this is another moronic person who thinks that they can pick a celebrity, claimed they had a relationship, claimed they assaulted them, and sue them for big money.

Okay ,so she files 2 years after . I don’t know if there is a rape statue of limitations. But if shefiled this as a rape case and he didn’t use a condom , a educated woman who is not living under the same roof and feels not trapped in her own home ,should immediately get a rape test done proving no condom was used . The DNA would hold up in court. Anyone who follows true crime knows “the evidence is always in the semen!” Also if she put up a fight to stick to her “no” , wouldn’t there be evidence of a nail swab ,its very easy to have dead skin cells of the perp under your nails. I do question her actions of waiting so long.
