As Gossip Cop has reported, Heard filed for divorce in May after 15 months of marriage. She went on to obtain a restraining order against the actor, claiming he had been physically and verbally abusive throughout the marriage. The two sides then traded a number of vicious accusations in the media.
Depp and Heard settled their divorce last month, though they remain at odds, particularly over the handling of the actress’ $7 million settlement. Now Manson, a longtime friend of the actor, is coming to his defense. “Johnny is one of the nicest people that I know — to the extent where it’s almost heartbreaking how kind he is to his friends, and everyone around him,” the rocker tells The Daily Beast.
“I know that he was completely crucified — unjustly. I would stand by him on anything,” Manson, who is also godfather to Depp’s daughter, said. He went on, “As my friend, I know that he’s handling it the best he can and he’s a great dad, too. It fills me with joy to see his kids grow up and be so smart, and so hilarious.”
Manson further said, “It’s hard to say when you talk about your friends. Of course I think that all of it was bullsh*t, and I think that he is a great person. I wouldn’t agree with any of it if someone were to put me on the stand and ask me what I know, or what I’ve witnessed.”
