Mariah Carey “may quit” “American Idol” over her feud with fellow judge Nicki Minaj, reports Star.

A supposed “spy” for the mag claims that after Minaj’s profanity-laced outburst toward Carey was caught on camera, the “Butterfly” singer told show executives that Minaj is “mentally unstable and a threat.”

The alleged source adds, “Mariah has no qualms about ditching the show if Nicki doesn’t chill out.”

So, would Carey really give up her new job and $18 million contract over the tiff with Minaj?

Nope!

A source close to Carey tells Gossip Cop it’s “not true” that the singer is even considering leaving “American Idol.”

Once again, Star’s reporting is out of tune.
