Mariah Carey: I’m Not Feuding With Nicki Minaj on American Idol

Mariah Carey is shooting down rumors of an “American Idol” feud with fellow new judge Nicki Minaj, asking reporters at a press event in New York on Monday, “How can we feud in two days?”

TMZ had reported that the two singers were already “at each other’s throats” on the singing competition, but Carey says that’s not the case — at least, not yet.

The pop icon, who kicked off the first day of auditions with Minaj, Randy Jackson and Keith Urban in New York on Sunday, told the press, “I think a feud takes a little longer.”

All the judges then started laughing.

And Minaj, for her part, said they’re all “getting along wonderfully,” so far.

Nothing to see here, people!
