Mariah Carey “I Don’t” Music Video: Runaway Bride Burns Wedding Dress
Mariah Carey is a runaway bride who burns her wedding dress in the new music video for “I Don’t,” which was released on Friday. Watch below.
Carey and fiancé James Packer split back in October, ending their engagement. The former couple then went to war with each other, as their respective camps released nasty allegations about the other side. Now the singer has turned their breakup into musical fodder.
“I Don’t” originally debuted on Sunday as part of the finale of “Mariah’s World,” Carey’s E! reality show. As Gossip Cop has reported, the series was originally supposed to focus heavily on her relationship with Packer. But after they called it quits, a new storyline was crafted around Carey moving on from the Australian mogul with the help of backup dancer Bryan Tanaka.
Now in the “I Don’t” music video, Carey is seen wearing a bridal gown as she runs out of a mansion. She then lounges provocatively in a luxury car while wearing the dress and singing the track’s scornful lyrics. Towards the end of the clip, Carey goes to a fire pit and throws the gown in. She even gives the middle finger.
Interestingly, this not the first time Carey has played a runaway bride in one of her music videos. In “We Belong Together,” the superstar ditches her groom, played by Eric Roberts, at the altar to run off with Wentworth Miller. Watch both clips below.
