Mariah Carey’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Vandalized
Mariah Carey’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was vandalized on Sunday when someone drew a question mark next to the singer’s name. Get more details below.
The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce reportedly called the Los Angeles Police Department shortly after learning of the star’s impairment. The plaque has since been fixed, but it cost the Hollywood Historic Trust $1,500 to erase the damage. The culprit who defaced the star reportedly took credit for it on Instagram, but authorities are also looking at surveillance video to determine the suspect’s identity. The wrongdoer will be charged with felony vandalism if convicted of the crime. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Carey for a comment, but we’ve yet to hear back.
Luckily for the singer, her star didn’t take nearly as much of a beating as the president elect’s did back in October. As Gossip Cop reported, Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was destroyed by a hammer and pickaxe by a man dressed as a city construction worker. The culprit similarly took credit for the destruction on social media, and was later arrested for felony vandalism. Gossip Cop will have updates regarding the incident involving Carey’s star.
