Mariah Carey, James Packer Relationship Was NOT Fake, Despite Report
Mariah Carey and James Packer’s relationship was NOT fake, despite a ridiculous tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “completely false.”
The singer and businessman called of their engagement earlier this month, and now according to In Touch, Carey never truly had feelings for her ex-fiance during their year-and-a-half romance. A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “The relationship was a sham from the beginning,” further alleging Carey dated the billionaire for publicity purposes and to help her career. “She was never ready to make a marriage work with James. The relationship was basically just to promote herself.”
The tabloid’s dubious insider goes on to claim Carey also used Packer for his wealth and luxurious lifestyle, but she never wanted to get intimate with him and the two “would sleep in separate bedrooms.” The supposed “source” adds, “But Mariah didn’t care. She was never focused on making James happy or being a real partner to him. The whole thing was just for show. All she cares about is her image.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a rep for Carey, who exclusively assures us the tabloid’s entire report is “completely false.” The singer’s relationship with Packer may not have worked out, but it certainly wasn’t fake, and the assertion otherwise is absurd. Unfortunately, we have repeatedly had to call out In Touch for publishing lies about the singer.
Gossip Cop recently busted the outlet for its ludicrous story about Carey having an assistant handle her boobs. And shortly before that nonsense, we debunked the tabloid’s tale about Carey’s upcoming reality show already being a “trainwreck.” This latest claim about the singer’s relationship with her ex-fiance is equally bogus.
