Mariah Carey Says Nicki Minaj Threatened to Shoot Her; Rapper Blasts “Lies” (VIDEO)

Mariah Carey says fellow “American Idol” judge Nicki Minaj threatened her with a gun.

The singer confirmed earlier reports of a violent threat during an interview with Barbara Walters, “The View” host revealed to her audience on Thursday.

According to Walters, Carey claims multiple people overheard Minaj ranting, “If I had a gun, I would shoot the b**ch” after the two women fought during “Idol” auditions earlier this week.

Carey told Walters she “doesn’t feel comfortable emotionally,” but plans to continue doing the show with additional security.

Minaj, however, claims she never made the threat — and went on a long Twitter tear defending herself against what she labeled “lies” and media manipulation.

On Thursday she wrote, “Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she’s a black rapper. Lmao. I’ll then hit up Barbara n milk it.”

Minaj continued, “Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz.”

The rapper continued to blast Walters, tweeting, “Barbara walters didn’t reach out from our team barbz. I guess we’re too dangerous. Don’t shake if u don’t wannA get shook!!!!”

“I don’t call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two feet. Never needed an army. God is good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave,” added Minaj.

She concluded, “I guess it hurts 2 have the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we’ve had since simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn.”

    No matter what was said and done this is how I see it ok honestly, there is two sides to every story. Mariah Carey ain’t innocent worth a damn either. BEFORE she even joined idol she made stuck Up comments about how she can “judge the show by herself” and everyone thought that was rude and disrespectful to the previous judges who were ALL talented as well. I don’t care how talented or what “records” she supposedly set that HAVE been NOW topped by other artist and i dont care how long shes “been in the industry” she DID however from reports START the argument when she humed “why did we hire her” causing nicki to go off in the first place. Who wouldn’t get pissed over an insult like that? everyone should know by know she is a known diva. im not a fan of either tbh. i think mariah gives DRY public performances. i saw her perform once and she could barely move on the stage and live that day she could barely hitthe high notes people claim she can hit. when i see artist perform i want them to sound exactly like their records. Nicki Minaj i dont hate her but im not a huge fan either but ONE thing i do KNOW about her judging from past interviews and thigs ive seen her do she does NOT take peoples shit. She doesn’t take other people’s shit, she has a voice that she uses to stand Up for herself. something i think more celebs should do instead of eing afraid to not e liked by people for doing it. Just because Nicki is not as talented as Mariah, does NOT mean Nicki has to put up with Mariah Carey’s shit. An that goes for EVERY CELEB and just regular every day people. It doesn’t matter if someone is a billionaire or a bum don’t take shit from anyone. BE yourself and use your voice to defend yourself. Don’t be intimidated. And I like them both equally for different reasons too aside from talent. I am not taking a side here at all. I’m just speaking human truth. Why would anyone let someone else belittle them? Regardless of who it is? Oh because it’s Mariah Carey I’m suppose to let her say things to me any way she wants? No. Same goes vis versa if nicki came at Mariah first. Mariah requested a pay raise before she even joined the show. It’s no secret she’s hard to work with. I haven’t heard a complaint about working with nicki till now. I’ve heard things about Mariah. For example: people always said Mariah is forever late. Typical diva behavior. Yet in interviews the people who thank nicki for showing up early. Not trying to take sides just stating facts. However nicki could’ve easily handled her is a more proper manner than she did. Rather than cursing no matter who ticked off she was. So I say BOTH people are in the wrong. Mariah should’ve never started it and nicki should’ve never responded the way she did. But Mariah asked for it. Nicki is ONE way all the time. She never changes. Mariah is much more “princessy”. So they should’ve been more aware to whom they hire next time. I say forget it all and just HIRE BEYONCE. Now that is a true performer and talent.

    Well said. I personally never like Mariah. Her voice is too screechy and just high pitched for me. I saw her concert too. YEARS ago. She can sing to some people to me she either whispers or whistles it. I prefer different singing I guess. But my point is. Hiring Mariah was a bad move from the start dude to her behavior before hand like you said. However hiring nicki who’s a rapper was wrong to. Nicki would be more suitable for a show like the X factor or America’s got talent. Nicki grew up doing theatre and stuff so no shade to those shows but I think she’s be great and judging those cause rappers DO go on those shows. Keith urban was a good choice and of course randy. But I think out of anyone beyonce is someone that could do the job of both of those women. Keep it two men and one woman like before if they wanted a forth judge they could have picked someone just for the first auditions.. Someone like Adele would be cool to see a judge or hell how about a PREVIOUS contestant? Like Carrie underwood? Kelly clarkson or fantasia bureno? They have AMAZING VOICES. And they are relatable to people auditioning.

    As a society we’ve grown far too accepting of violent behaviors, and of disinhibited verbal defecation, both. People used to strive to have dignity, class, and manners (forget grammar–I resigned myself decades ago.) Now they’re admired, seemingly, for nurturing their opposite traits and skills. Whining is endemic as well in our culture’s narcissistic rapture. It’s sad. Indeed, money can’t buy you happiness. Just look at these two assclowns–Mariah & Nikki.

    However, money IS good at greasing the friction points. A wise older friend, now departed, once told me that “Life is a shit sandwich, and the more bread you have, the less shit you have to taste.” Seems these two are ignoring the bread and going straight for the shit. Both have a terminal case of HUTA–for the unfamiliar, that’s Head Up The Ass Syndrome. They should pull their heads OUT. The view’s nicer at least.

    I’m team Mariah all the way. Nicki has stepped way over the line. Trust Nicki to bring race into it – which is all the more ridiculous because Mariah is mixed race and married to a black man. Persecution complex and a violent temper is a dangerous mix. She should be removed from the show.

    Are you kidding me–seriously this victim crap has got to stop. Mariah needs to stop playing off her former glory. Yes she has had a great music career, but that is not the case anymore. Nicki did what most people do when they’re mad –blurt out foolishness. They should have both shown more professionalism flat out. Neither one deserves sympathy in the matter.

    Well said!! I don’t think Mariah is at all innocent in this. We have heard for years & years about her diva behavior. And I think she is a drama mama period! That said, never, never should you put a woman who God only knows what she did previously…. as in before she became a star, in a 12 million dollar seat without training! ( she getting paid 12 mil ust to be a judge) Nicki may have been valid with all she said about mariah, but she could have avoided all the f this and that stuff and stuck to just calling her out on her behavior and all would have went well. I think American Idol needs votes because ratings have dropped and putting those two together is getting them just that… higher ratings! I say it is about time someone put Mariah in her place, but nicki should have at least been professional about doing so.

    she is not on idol to write an essay… she was hired to judge other performers. being fair to nicki, I have not heard Mariah give a good interview that made any sense since she started singing and performing as a profession. they both need to get over themselves or give the job to someone who can focus on the contestants and not each other!

    The buzz regarding these two not getting along started way before the auditions even started. With ratings slipping, no doubt the producers hired them specifically because they wanted fireworks and have probably encouraged all the trash talk.
