Mariah Carey performed a medley of some of her greatest hits during the “American Idol” finale on Thursday. Among the songs Carey sang were “Hero,” “We Belong Together,” and her latest single, “#Beautiful.”

As Gossip Cop has reported, “#Beautiful” is the music icon’s most recent single. Featuring Miguel (who did not appear on “American Idol” with her), it was released earlier this month as the lead single from her upcoming album. Carey had premiered the music video for the song on “American Idol” just last week.

“We Belong Together” first hit the airwaves in 2005, quickly becoming one of the biggest songs of the year, and kicking off the singer’s comeback. The track not only became Carey’s 16th number one hit, but also broke chart records. It also earned two Grammy Awards, and topped the Billboard Hot 100’s end-of-decade chart for 2000-2009.

“Hero,” of course, is also one of Carey’s most beloved songs. The inspirational ballad dates back to 1993, when, yes, it reached number on the music charts. It remains a classic today.

Fellow judge Randy Jackson joined Carey’s band on stage, with the musician and producer playing bass. Carey and Jackson have actually worked together a lot over the years.
