Maria Shriver to Replace Rosie O’Donnell?
12:53 pm, March 21st, 2012
RadarOnline claims Oprah is pursuing Maria Shriver to help her struggling OWN network, “hoping to recruit” her friend to begin working on shows in the fall.
The webloid links the purported Shriver recruitment to last week’s cancellation of Rosie O’Donnell’s talk program.
“Oprah knows she needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat, literally,” says a so-called RadarOnline “source,” who apparently has no clue what “literally” means, adding, “She has been in discussions with Maria for a very long time about doing a news/special interest driven show for OWN.”
The “insider” goes into detail, explaining, “Maria has been assured that any project she would do for OWN would be filmed in Los Angeles, or a location that was convenient to her.”
But while Shriver and Oprah are indeed close, there’s no truth to talk of California’s former First Lady joining the OWN family.
“We love Maria, however there are no plans with her at this time to do a show for OWN,” a network spokesperson tells Gossip Cop.
