Manny Cabo And Keith Semple “Voice” Battle Video: Rockers SLAY “Baba O’Riley”
It was a battle of the rockers on “The Voice” on Tuesday when Manny Cabo and Keith Semple went head to head in one of the most exhilarating season 9 face-offs yet. Watch below!
As Gossip Cop reported, the 45-year-old Cabo scored a four-chair turn-around during the blind auditions. Adam Levine snatched him up, along with the younger Semple. Now the coach, with help from special guest adviser John Fogerty, tasked them performing The Who classic “Baba O’Riley.” And what a performance it was.
Cabo and Semple’s intensity was off the charts. They left the stage to get right in the panel’s faces, and even had matching killer high notes at the end. In addition to Levine, Pharrell and Gwen Stefani gave a standing ovation.
Blake Shelton kicked off the commentary with a joke, Manny, when you came down here and scared me and pointed at me, how did you know I was wasted right now?” He then added much more seriously, “That was one of the best battles we’ve probably ever had on the show.”
Pharrell thought both Cabo and Semple could make albums “right now,” and Stefani said the same about Semple, further calling him a “star.” For his part, Levine told his contestants, “It really felt like it was steps later in the competition because it was really polished.” That said, he took Stefani’s advice and picked Semple as the winner.
Surprisingly, though, Cabo wasn’t stolen, much like Celeste Betton wasn’t on Monday, even though it was said that she, too, gave one of the “best” battle performances in teh show’s history. Check out the full video below!
