Mandy Moore Alleged Stalker Arrested
A man was arrested at Mandy Moore’s Los Angeles home on Friday for allegedly stalking her.
The unnamed suspect, who is said to be in his 40s, reportedly made two unwanted visits to Moore’s residence in Hollywood this week. During the first incident, he allegedly went to the singer-actress’ doorstep and began screaming. Moore called police, who took a report, but the suspect was not arrested.
On Friday, however, the man returned, again yelling profanities and attempting to leave letters for Moore at her house’s entrance. Moore called the cops again, and this time the suspect was taken into custody for felony stalking. But according to TMZ sources, the guy may be suffering from mental illness, and could end up in a psychiatric hospital instead of facing charges.
Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Moore to confirm the accuracy of the events, which are no doubt scary. The star hasn’t given any indication of the disturbing incidents on social media, last posting on Twitter Wednesday to reveal she had joined Snapchat even though she was “late to the party.” Moore is still in the midst of a divorce battle with Ryan Adams, as Gossip Cop reported in December. It’s unclear if she lives alone.
UPDATE: It was reported on Monday, February 17, that the District Attorney is not pursuing the case for prosecution due to a lack of sufficient evidence. Moore has not commented.
UPDATE 2/24: Suspect Salahudin Moultaali was arrested at Moore’s home again, less than 10 days after the last incident. He’s now been charged with trespassing, stalking, and violating a restraining order. Though he faces up to two and a half years in jail for the misdemeanor charges, he will first be given a mental evaluation before the case moves forward.
