Mama June Shannon Hospitalized With Pneumonia
Mama June Shannon was rushed to the hospital in Georgia on Friday after her temperature spiked. Doctors determined the reality star was suffering from pneumonia.
Shannon originally felt too ill to get out of bed on Friday morning, but was taken to the emergency room when her temperature went up to 103 degrees. Doctors diagnosed her with severe dehydration and pneumonia. Shannon was treated in the hospital, and then released and ordered to stay on bed rest for several days.
According to TMZ, Shannon’s estranged partner Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson has stepped in to take care of the family, and though he moved quite a ways away from the clan’s home, he will stay in town to help out for a few days. Thompson is dad to Shannon’s youngest and most famous daughter, Alanna “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.
Shannon’s brief hospitalization came just a few weeks after she and her daughters were in a car crash. As Gossip Cop reported, a driver slammed into the rear-end of her SUV and drove off as Shannon was pulling out of a gas station near her home in Hampton, Georgia. Thankfully, no one was injured.
Shannon and her family have had a somewhat lower profile since TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” last year in the wake of the matriarch reuniting with her sex offender ex who molested her daughter Anna Cardwell. Shannon has since insisted she is no longer with the convict, and the family is said to be shopping around a new series.
