Malik Bendjelloul, the director of the 2013 Oscar-winning documentary Searching for Sugar Man, died in Stockholm on Tuesday.
Bendjelloul was 36.
There is no cause of death yet.
Police are saying it’s not being treated as suspicious.
Bendjelloul’s film told the story of two men from Cape Town who sought to find out whether the rumored death of an American musician named Sixto Rodriguez was true, and if not, what become of the musician who found success in South Africa.
