Malala Yousafzai Wins Nobel Peace Prize, Youngest Person To Win Award
Malala Yousafzai has won the Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the youngest person to win the prestigious award, it was announced on Friday.
The committee cited the 17-year-old Pakastani’s “struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.”
Yousafzai was 15 when she was shot in the head in 2012 by the Taliban for promoting girls’ rights to education.
Following that horrific experience, she founded her own organization, The Malala Fund, which focuses on empowering girls through schooling.
In August, Justin Bieber did a FaceTime video chat with Yousafzai and was moved by her story and organization.
Congratulations to Yousafzai on yet another honor.
